A Fresh Look for New Visions Holistic Expo
Starting Rapillo Creative has allowed me to take on some truly rewarding projects, and one of the highlights has been redesigning the logo for the New Visions Holistic Expo. The original logo, while meaningful, needed a refresh to better reflect the vibrant and inclusive spirit of the Expo.
The Original Logo
The original logo served its purpose, but let’s be honest—it was essentially clipart. It had a bit of a religious vibe, which wasn’t quite hitting the mark for an event that celebrates a broad spectrum of holistic practices. While functional, it didn’t fully capture the essence of what the Expo had become.
The Redesigned Logo
The new logo features a dove, a symbol of peace and harmony, set against a backdrop of a colorful lotus flower, which represents purity and enlightenment. The gradient pastel colors in the lotus petals signify the diverse and inclusive nature of the Expo, while the bold typography adds a modern touch.
Design Process
Creating this logo was both challenging and rewarding. I designed it in Adobe Illustrator, referencing sources on sacred geometry to achieve balance and harmony. This technical and beautiful design process was all about ensuring that the logo conveyed a sense of serenity and inclusiveness while being visually striking.
My logic was simple: holistic events can sometimes appear dark and uninviting if the visuals are too harsh. I aimed for a look that emphasized lightness, peace, and a slightly esoteric vibe. This balance ensures the logo is inviting and representative of the Expo’s mission.
I experimented with various color palettes and styles, aiming to create a balance between traditional and contemporary elements. The final design is a harmonious blend that captures the essence of the New Visions Holistic Expo—an event that celebrates holistic health, spiritual growth, and community.
